Are body image problems the cause of your constant attempt to lose weight? Do you diet and struggle endlessly, even though people say you don’t need to lose any more weight?
That was an issue for me. Even after losing 150 pounds and fitting comfortably in a size 6 (which is quite an accomplishment for someone who used to wear size 26!) I was never satisfied. I still didn’t like the number on the scale, and took issue with one body part after another.
In reality, the ideal body type portrayed by models, in magazines, and in television and movies, is far from normal (or desirable) for the average American woman. Yet still we attain to this unrealistic ideal. Why is that?
